Join a server with up to 30 players and wait for the round to start. One player becomes the Locust killer while everyone else is a survivor. Your objective as a survivor is to hide from the Locust, move between safe spots and make it to an escape route before the killer finds you. If you are the Locust, your goal is to hunt down every survivor. The last survivor alive wins the round.

The best hiding spots are dark corners and quiet vents that the Locust is unlikely to check, far from the main corridors where most survivors run. Because the game is still in pre-alpha, the nest map is fairly compact — hiding behind furniture, in shadowed alcoves and near the edges of the map tends to work best. Always keep a nearby escape route in mind, and move between hiding spots instead of staying still too long.

To escape you need to reach one of the escape routes on the map and survive until the final escape phase. Learn the fastest path to the exit that balances cover and speed — the shortest route is not always the safest if it crosses open ground the Locust patrols. When everyone else is down, the final escape is your win condition, so save your best movement for the end of the round.

The last survivor wins by staying alive until every other survivor has been caught or until you complete the final escape. The longer the round goes, the more dangerous it gets — the Locust learns your hiding patterns and the map gets harder to navigate. Keep moving between cover, stay quiet near hiding spots, and watch for an opening to sprint to the escape route. Team coordination can help distract the killer while you make your move.
